City of Eivissa Symphonic Band heads to Formentera in step with baton beat and with Harry Potter, Aladdin and Sinatra in tow

The Office of Culture of the Consell de Formentera is pleased to announce that as part of the activities planned to celebrate Sant Jordi, the City of Eivissa Symphonic Band will come to Formentera to perform an assortment of the most iconic and beloved pieces in cinema.

The concert will begin with "Coplas de las divisas", an endearing piece from Bienvenido, Mister Marshall. Next they will travel to North Africa and return with a selection of songs from the soundtrack to Aladdin. Then, it's "all aboard" the high-speed train with Robert Smith's "The Great Locomotive Chase". Stepping off the train, the audience will enter a magical dimension of melodies from Harry Potter. This will be followed by "Gallito y Vito", a classic paso doble by maestro Santiago Lope. Then it's back to the theatre for a bit of entertainment for the little ones: the soundtrack of one of the great works of animated cinema, Ratatouille. Mancini's "The Pink Panther" will follow. The band will also play "Centura", a piece by James Sweringen. Finally, the performance will conclude with "America" (excerpt from West Side Story) and Stephen Bulla's "Sinatra.

The free show, programmed for Saturday 22 April at 5.30pm, will unfold in the Sa Senieta courtyard and last roughly 60 minutes.
