The Office of Mobility of the Consell de Formentera reports that local motorists attempting to access Ses Salines Park will face controls from Wednesday 10 May. Access to the park will be free for Formentera residents throughout the summer season.

Entry will cost €4 per car and €2 per motorcycle from 10 May to 15 June; €5 per car and €3 per motorcycle from 16 June to 15 July; €6 and €4 from 16 July to 31 August; €5/€3 from 1 to 15 September, and €4/€2 from 16 to 30 September.

People with reduced mobility, drivers of electric vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists will have free access, while drivers of hybrid vehicles will get in at half fare. "The goal is to promote sustainable mobility in the natural park and avoid situations of saturation in this area of environmental importance and great tourist appeal", said Rafael González, mobility councillor.

Access controls will remain in place till 30 September at Ses Illetes, and will only apply from 1 June to 15 September at Es Cavall d'en Borràs and Llevant.
